Your privacy is important to us. This statement outlines the Planner-Assist (Angela Santalia) policy on how we manage the personal information we hold about our clients (you) and your clients, to enable us to complete our services.

Planner-Assist is an Australian owned Australian Financial Paraplanning Services provider. We provide the following services to Financial Advisers located throughout Australia:

  • Preparation of Statement of Advice documents 
  • Assistance in creating the recommended Strategy
  • Financial Modelling and Projections

Planner-Assist is bound by the Privacy Act 1988, which sets out a number of principles concerning the privacy of individuals.  

Understanding and meeting our clients’ Paraplanning needs using a wide range of financial services and strategies is the core service we provide. To do this effectively, we need to collect certain personal information. Personal information is any information that is provided to us from you, that could identify you, your clients, or be used to establish you and your clients’ identity. Planner-Assist uses and discloses that personal information, so we can provide our services.  We will only use or disclose sensitive information for the purposes for which it was provided to Planner-Assist and to enable us to provide our services.

The Australian Privacy Principles set out the restrictions about the way that personal information can be used. Planner-Assist will always adhere to those principles.

We engage directly with you to collect personal information about you and your clients. All information we collect has been provided by you (our client). We do not engage directly with your clients. We collect information through written sources and occasionally via phone calls, as provided by you (our client).

We may use a range of personal information about you or your clients to assist us in provided our services. The information that we may request includes (but is not limited to):

  • Name, Address, Date of birth, Contact details
  • Employment and Occupational Duties
  • Income and Expenses
  • Assets and Liabilities
  • Account Balances and Financial Statements
  • Tax and Residency Status
  • Citizenship status
  • Health and Medical history

We sometimes need to request additional personal information from you and your clients. This will be done through you (our client). Planner-Assist will only contact your clients direct, if you request us to do so with your written request/ approval beforehand.

If the requested information is not provided to us, we may not be able to complete the requested services and may only be able to provide limited services.

We will only know of changes to personal information for you and your clients, if you provide it to us. Otherwise, we do not update the personal information that we collect.

We may send you (our client) marketing material from time to time that we think will be useful to you.  Planner-Assist will never contact your clients for any form of marketing.

We will share you or your client’s information to someone authorised by you, with your consent (either expressly or implied).

We may request individuals to provide services to Planner-Assist to enable us to complete the requested services. Those individuals will be permitted to obtain only the personal information that they need to deliver the requested service to Planner-Assist . We will take reasonable steps to ensure that those individuals are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the protection of you and your clients’ personal information.

We do not share this information with other government agencies or other organisations without your permission unless that is required or authorised by law.

We take steps to protect the personal information we hold against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure and other misuse. These steps include password-protecting access to our electronic information technology and communications systems.

Only staff who need access to you and your clients’ personal information are able to access it. Personal information is never printed, faxed or filed in hard copy.  We do not use paper-based files or recording of any kind.

We apply industry best practice security and risk management technologies to protect the personal information we hold. We use secure computer storage facilities.

We may need to maintain records for a significant period of time. However, when we consider information is no longer needed, we will remove any details that will identify you or we will securely destroy the records.

Under the Commonwealth Privacy Act, you have the right to obtain a copy of the personal information which Planner-Assist holds about you and your clients’ and to advise Planner-Assist of any inaccuracies. The law does set out some exceptions to this.

If you would like to do so, please email [email protected]. If your clients require information, they should contact you first, for you to request the information from us. If your client contacts Planner-Assist directly, we will inform you first before engaging with your client.

If you consider that any action of Planner-Assist breaches this Privacy Policy or the Commonwealth Privacy Act, you can make a complaint. To do so, please email [email protected]. We will do our best to rectify the situation as your satisfaction is key to our mutual success. If you are not satisfied with our response to your complaint however, you can telephone the Commonwealth Privacy Commissioner’s hotline on 1300 363 992.

There are many aspects of the site which can be viewed without providing personal information, however, to submit an enquiry through the Planner-Assist web site, you are required to submit personally identifiable information. This may include but not limited to your Name, Email and Phone (optional but required for us to contact you).

www.planner-assist.com.au does not have links to Third Party websites.
